She teaches broadly across the undergraduate and graduate curriculum, with emphasis on social welfare policy and analysis, social justice, and inequality. Dr. Loeffler’s research interests are, broadly speaking, related to community development and income inequality.  Currently, she serves as an at large board member for Fahe, Inc., a national community development financial institution committed to eradicating persistent poverty in Appalachia and as a board member for Lexington’s Living Arts and Science Center, an innovative community-based non-profit working to provide arts and science related education to children and adults across Kentucky.  Dr. Loeffler is an avid runner and a current member of Lexington’s only Women’s Flat Track Roller Derby Team, the Rollergirls of Central Kentucky.
