She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in social work and is currently a Doctoral Candidate at the University of Kentucky, focusing on administrative leadership. Her research centers on cultural competence in education and its critical impact on mental health outcomes for students from diverse backgrounds. With years of experience, Mrs. Fernandez serves as a School Social Worker for the Beaumont Independent School District, where she supports student success by addressing systemic barriers and fostering inclusive practices. Additionally, she is an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Kentucky, where she educates future social workers in evidence-based practices and cultural humility.
