Rachel Buxbaum has a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, her beloved hometown, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. Rachel is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Kentucky’s College of Social Work, with an anticipated graduation date of May 2023.
Rachel has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) since 2018 and has extensive experience working in a variety of settings including general and intensive outpatient psychotherapy, child welfare, hospital settings, the non-profit sector and, intensive clinical case management.
Rachel works at UK’s Counseling Center as their Clinical Care Coordinator, providing both clinical case management services and psychotherapy services to the students of the University of Kentucky. As an employee of the university, Rachel was the 2022 recipient of the Student Success award for Excellence in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, which directly aligns with the focus of her Capstone project; the decentering of privilege via clinical social work supervision.
