Todd D. Palmer is currently the Chair of the Marilyn Younger Conley School of Social Work and BSW Program Director at Brescia University in Owensboro, Kentucky. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Evansville, his Master’s Degree in Social Work at the University of Southern Indiana, and is a doctoral candidate at the University of Kentucky. Before becoming an educator, Todd worked in the field focusing on mental health, substance abuse and misuse, and intimate partner abuse and violence. He uses his experience in the field to prepare the next generation of social workers to meet the challenges they will face in their careers. His current research focus is on the problems associated with civil discourse throughout society, and more specifically within the social work profession. He believes social workers are in a unique position to be leaders in finding a solution to the divisions that exist between people.
