Parenting Tough Teen Behaviors With Melissa Corkum
Parenting teens has unique rewards and challenges, especially when our teens have experienced trauma and adverse experiences. Melissa’s learned a lot the hard way about how to set families up for lifelong relationships with their teens.
In this training, you will:
- understand a connected view of success when parenting teens.
- have a process for choosing which battles to fight that promotes lifelong relationships.
- understand the five reasons kids misbehave.
- have a process to choose the best action when dealing with challenging behavior.
About the presenter
Melissa Corkum is an adoptee, mother of 6 by birth and adoption, and Empowered to Connect Parent Trainer. She is co-founder of The Adoption Connection.
Additional Course Information
This event is approved for 1.5 hours of ongoing, elective foster parent training credit in a group setting for Kentucky foster parents.
If there are two adults in the same household that want to participate in this training, each person must register separately. Foster parent training credit is administered based on the duration of the meeting and each attendee’s participation. In order to receive credit, participants must be on video and visible to the moderators during the event.
