Virtual PCWCP Info Session

Join us on Friday, September 18th at 1:00 PM EST for a virtual discussion with past and present Public Child Welfare Certification Program (PCWCP) students. We will hear from two PCWCP alumni working in the public child welfare field as well as two students currently enrolled in the program. This event is free and open to current students, prospective students, and exploratory students. PCWCP is a collaboration between UK and the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services designed to add highly trained social work graduates to the ranks of child protection workers throughout Kentucky. This is a competitive program that provides in-state tuition, a stipend, and a job upon graduation through a two-year employment commitment with the Cabinet following successful completion of the program.
Trey Hiles, BASW is an ongoing case manager at the Cabinet for Health and Family Services in the Northern Bluegrass Service Region as a case manager, Trey provides services to meet family needs identified in assessments, monitors progress toward achievement of goals, and closes cases when goals have been achieved. Trey is currently working on his MSW at UK. UK alum: BASW ’19
Taylor Lybrook, BASW is an investigative worker at the Cabinet for Health and Family Services in the Southern Bluegrass Service Region. In this role, Taylor completes investigations to determine if a child has been harmed or is at risk of harm, provides referrals for services to reduce the risk and increase the safety of the child, and determines the need for services to support the family. Taylor is currently working on her MSW at UK. UK alum: BASW ’19
Jennifer Jackson, CoSW student, is in her second semester of PCWCP. Jennifer started her first practicum placement in the Salt River Trail Region last month on an ongoing team. Jennifer hopes to do her second practicum in the Salt River Trail Region to continuing learning about child abuse investigations to prepare for future employment with the agency. Jennifer would like to seek employment in the Salt River Trial Region upon graduation.
Taylor Fothergill, CoSW student, is in her third semester of PCWCP. Taylor completed her first practicum in the North Bluegrass Service Region with an investigative team. Taylor hopes to complete her second practicum in Northern Bluegrass to continue learning about services provided in their community. After graduation, Taylor’s goal is to return to the Northern Bluegrass Service Region to work as an ongoing case manager.
