SUMMARY:Clinical Supervision Training for KY LCSW Supervisors
DESCRIPTION:Clinical supervision is a crucial aspect of social work practice that ensures ethical and competent service delivery. The goals of clinical supervision are to improve the quality of services provided to clients\, enhance the skills and knowledge of social workers\, promote self-awareness and self-reflection\, and provide emotional support. This live interactive training (via Zoom video conferencing) meets the 3 hour requirement of the Kentucky Board of Social Work for licensed clinical social workers who are current supervisors for CSWs in Kentucky. \nLearning Outcomes\nAfter completing this course\, you will be able to: \n\nReview legal and ethical responsibilities of LCSW supervisors in Kentucky.\nFoster a supportive supervisory relationship that promotes professional development\nIdentify the principles of ethical decision making\nAddress common challenges faced in supervision and strategies to overcome them.\n\nDelivery Method\nSynchronous distance learning (live virtual) \nCost\n$60.00 \nCredit Hours\n3 ACE \nAccreditation\nUniversity of Kentucky College of Social Work\, Provider # 1377\, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 9/29/22-9/29/25 \nSocial workers completing this course receive 3 general continuing education credits. \nThis course meets Kentucky requirements for 3 hours of Clinical Supervision Training for Current LCSW Supervisors. Provider number KBSW 2025042: “LCSW Supervision.” \n \nInstructor\nShericka Smith\, DSW\, MSSW\, LCSW was born and raised in Lexington\, Kentucky and is a mental health coordinator for Fayette County Public Schools. Shericka obtained an undergraduate degree from Transylvania University where she studied Spanish and Psychology. She then went on to the University of Louisville\, earning her Masters in School Social Work. She recently obtained her Doctorate in Social Work and is teaching classes at the University of Kentucky.
