DESCRIPTION:Championing Disability Justice and Disability Joy in Social Work\nThe Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) is thrilled to announce the 71st Annual Conference in Denver\, Colorado\, October 23–26\, 2025! \nThis year’s conference theme\, “It’s Time to Act: Championing Disability Justice and Disability Joy in Social Work\,” champions the need for social work conversations around disability joy\, justice\, diversity\, equity\, and inclusion. \nThe conference will host proposals and conversations around disability joy and the disability justice principles of intersectionality\, interdependence\, centering those most impacted\, mutual aid\, cross movement solidarity\, recognizing wholeness\, commitment to cross-disability solidarity\, sustainability\, collective access\, collective liberation\, and opposition to oppressive systems. \nThe 2025 CSWE Annual Conference website is now live. \nThis website will be the hub for all annual conference information. DESCRIPTION:Unlock the keys to compassionate caregiving with our comprehensive training: “Navigating Challenging Behaviors: Understanding & Responding with Compassion.” Tailored for foster and adoptive parents\, this program offers invaluable insights and practical strategies to effectively manage difficult behaviors with empathy and understanding. Gain the confidence and skills needed to create a nurturing environment where every child can thrive. Join us on this transformative journey towards building stronger\, healthier relationships with your child. \nAfter completing this training\, participants will be able to: \n\nDefine and identify challenging behaviors in various contexts.\nGain insight into the underlying causes of challenging behaviors\, including\npsychological\, emotional\, and environmental factors.\nDevelop effective communication skills to de-escalate tense situations and build\npositive relationships with individuals exhibiting challenging behaviors.\nBe equipped with self-care strategies to manage the emotional toll associated\nwith working with individuals exhibiting challenging behaviors.\nExplore and implement positive behavioral support strategies to promote long-term behavior change and enhance the overall well-being of children.\n\nASK-VIP trainings are expressly designed to meet the needs of foster and adoptive parents. Skilled trainers who have lived experiences with fostering and adoption provide these trainings in a virtual group setting. There is 1.5 hours of ongoing\, elective foster parent training credit available for Kentucky’s foster parents. \nCreate an account or log-in to register for this training. A reliable internet connection and a smartphone\, tablet\, or computer with web camera is needed to participate. If there are two adults in the same household that want to participate in this training\, each person must register separately. Foster parent training credit is administered based on the duration of the meeting and each attendee’s participation.
