DESCRIPTION:The Gathering Spot is a great NEW way to meet other kinship caregivers from the comfort of your own home and has been redesigned to be a spot where you can come for as long as you have time to meet other kinship caregivers\, make a friend or two and gain valuable information to help you in your kinship journey. \nThis is not a support group\, this is a virtual meeting space designed to connect caregivers together and create a kinship community\, so that you can learn about important resources or information essential in your kinship journey. \nThis connection meeting will be offered every week on Tuesday through July 24th and will be hosted by KKRC staff members. SUMMARY:KIN-VIP Support Group - Relatives Raising Kin
DESCRIPTION:Relatives Raising Kin is a community of kinship caregivers who come together for support\, friendship\, and information. Our goal is to connect families with one another to find resources\, get answers to questions\, and support each other. We are a general kinship community open to anyone providing kinship care in Kentucky. \nFacilitated by Judy Russell\, Mental Health Specialist for Fayette County Public Schools\, was raised by her great-grandmother from infancy. In her 20’s\, Judy began caring for her sister’s three children that she later adopted. Throughout her career\, Judy has supported kinship families through the Cabinet for Health and Family Services and the public school system. \nAs a result\, Judy has worked with countless youth and their families\, helping them navigate the challenges of raising children of all ages while supporting caregivers in their journey. Come with questions\, come with suggestions\, come for a community who can support and encourage YOU! \nREGISTER NOW!
