DESCRIPTION:Recognizing the Signs of Adoption Disruption & Dissolution will teach foster/adoptive parents about adoption disruption and dissolution by equipping them with information regarding factors that contribute to disruption/dissolution\, statistics on disruption/dissolution rates\, and warning signs of a disruption or dissolution. The training also discusses ways to prevent a disruption/dissolution from occurring. \nAfter completing this training\, participants will be able to: \n\nDefine and compare the terms disruption and dissolution\, as well as identify factors and variables that have been shown to contribute to adoption disruption or dissolution.\nArticulate warning signs that indicate a disruption/dissolution as well as identify ways that they can be both proactive and reactive in order to prevent them from occurring.\n\nASK-VIP trainings are expressly designed to meet the needs of foster and adoptive parents. SUMMARY:Kinship Families Impacted By Substance Use KIN VIP Support Group
DESCRIPTION:This new KIN VIP Support Group will begin as a 12-week pilot Support Group and will provide a community of support for kinship caregivers who have been impacted by a family member’s substance use. This group will offer a safe space where kinship caregivers can find support\, understanding\, resources\, and hope. \nThe group is completely free and available to any caregiver raising a relative or fictive kin child.
