DESCRIPTION:Raising children when they are small can be fun–from reading story books to learning ABC’s and counting with cute rhymes\, the possibilities to create wonderful bonds and fun times together are seemingly endless.  But as they grow and are approach their teen years\, you may notice changes in their moods and behaviors.  Their emotional reactions and opinions become more pronounced\, they may have lost interest in their toys or hobbies and instead become more interested in their appearances and peer group. \nYou may be thinking that your young child is already turning into a teenager and may be asking yourself “What do I do now?”  Whether you have a tween (8-12 years old) or a teen (age 12- 19)\, this is the group for you! SUMMARY:Kinship Live Virtual Webinar Training – Financial Series: Finding Resources To Support Kinship Families
DESCRIPTION:As Kinship caregivers\, the most primary concern we have is being able to care for our families. Money becomes central to that concern. In this webinar\, we will explore the resources available to kinship families including recent changes to kinship financial supports including Kentucky Transitional Assistance Program (KTAP)\, Relative and Fictive Kin Placement Support Benefit (RFKPSB)\, and the new Subsidized Permanent Custody (SPC) option for those providing kinship foster care. \nREGISTER NOW \nAbout the Trainer: \nMaurice Lee II is the Service Array Specialist within the Out of Home Care Branch of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. He has been employed with the Cabinet for Health and Family Services for 10 years\, and have been working with Kinship families for 4 years. Maurice graduated from Western Carolina University in 2011 with a Bachelors in Criminal Justice and a Minor in Clinical Forensics. Maurice enjoys working with Relative and Fictive Kin caregivers throughout the state\, educating families on resources available to them and providing guidance as needed. \nPlease note: Although this LIVE webinar is designed to be an informative\, educational\, and helpful resource for kinship families caring for relative or fictive kin children\, anyone is welcome to attend including foster parents\, professionals\, students\, or community members. \nIt is our hope that by participating in this LIVE webinar\, attendees will receive educational and helpful information. DESCRIPTION:Losing a relationship\, a person\, a role/way of life\, or even losing the idea of being a grandma/uncle/aunt/sibling can be difficult and hard to navigate on your own.  The emotions you feel are so specific to what you are going through and can make you feel all alone at the same time. Are there any supports out there for those fictive kin caregivers?
