The Community and Social Development concentration is the only concentration offered to the off campus students. The off campus programs are geared toward those employed full-time who are looking for a student-friendly educational program designed to assist in the work-life-educational balance. All classes are held in the evenings and in a part-time format. Every effort is made to provide the best in educational opportunities for you, the student. All of our faculty, experience, and resources at the College of Social Work are made available to every student – regardless of where the class meets.

 

Southeastern Kentucky

The University of Kentucky’s MSW off-campus program in Southeast Kentucky (SEKY) is located in Hazard, Kentucky. Hazard is about a two hour drive south east of Lexington. Classes are held at the UK Center of Excellence in Rural Health. Classes are occasionally held at other regional areas based on the geography of the applicant cohort. We are currently offering classes in Hazard. Morehead/Ashland

The University of Kentucky has been offering the MSW program at Morehead State University since 1988. Morehead State University provides the classroom facilities for the program. Morehead Lies 65 miles east of Lexington and is located within the Daniel Boone National Forest.   In 2012, UK expanded the program to include the Ashland Campus at Ashland Community & Technical College. The successful collaboration between MSU and UK is aimed at meeting the increasing need for advanced degreed social workers who can move quickly into positions as administrators, supervisors, and advanced practitioners in the rural communities of Eastern Kentucky, Southeast Ohio and West Virginia.
