William Beaven graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Social Work with a MSW in 1975 and was inducted into the College of Social Work Hall of Fame in 2003. In 1990 Mr. Beaven founded Eidetik, a specialty healthcare management company for the development and management of Intermediate Care Facilities – Mental Retardation (ICF-MR) and waiver programs. Prior to the formation of Eidetik, Mr. Beaven was involved in service-delivery start-ups and/or expansions in Louisiana, Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky. The firm currently provides management services to more than 80 facilities in 6 states. These facilities employ nearly 2,000 staff and represent yearly operating budgets of over 80 million dollars. In 2001, Mr. Beaven started the Beaven-Eidetik Research Fellowship in Developmental Disabilities and Mental Retardation scholarship program for University of Kentucky College of Social Work students interested in the fields of developmental disabilities or mental retardation with interest in participating in a cooperative education program, and in 2005 Mr. Beaven founded the Beaven-Eidetik Doctoral Research Fellowship, providing doctoral student native Kentuckians the opportunity to engage in research of developmental disabilities, mental retardation, human service delivery, or in social work practice or education.
