Kinship Live Virtual Webinar Training – Housing: From Homelessness To Home. Understanding HUD And Section 8 Housing

One of our most basic needs is housing, but finding affordable housing for your family can be challenging. With costs rising and housing being harder to find, it helps to have all the information so that you can navigate this well. For those who are experiencing homelessness, this can be a very frightening time! Even if you, or someone you know, are already utilizing Public Housing or Section 8 housing, knowing your rights can be difficult as well.
Join us on November 9, 2023 from 12 pm – 1:30 pm as we explore the ins and outs of HUD (Department of Housing and Urban Development), Public Housing, and Section 8 housing. We’ll explore what is required to receive housing, the application process, how to locate housing, your rights as a tenant, and resources available to those experiencing homelessness through the Housing Department.
About the Trainers:
Lindsay Anderson is the Continuum of Care Systems Specialist under the Housing Contract Administration. Lindsay works directly with the Homeless Programs team with the Kentucky Housing Corporation.
Marti Mainous Chilcoat is the Housing Policy Analyst, HCV, Tenant Assistance Programs. Mart works with various Housing Choice Vouchers with the Kentucky Housing Corporation.
