Military/Veteran Competency Talk

Military service can shape individuals, families, and communities in unique ways. Join us for an opportunity to build greater understanding of military and veteran culture and the experiences of service members, veterans, and military-connected families. Students will learn how these experiences can influence clients’ needs, relationships, and interactions with systems of care—and how social workers can provide thoughtful, culturally responsive, and ethical support. The session will help prepare students to work confidently and conscientiously with military-connected populations across a variety of practice settings.
