Systems and organizations serving the most marginalized children and families often struggle to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration to address the holistic needs of at-risk youth and their families. Professionals who serve children and families operate largely in isolation from one another. What’s more, silos of different specialties create barriers for youth and families to access and utilize evidence-informed interventions and services to promote child well-being.
The mission of the Interdisciplinary Research Center on Children and Families (CCF) is to cultivate resources, knowledge, and intra- and inter-professional partnerships across multiple disciplines charged with promoting child safety, permanency, and well-being. By steadfastly adhering to this mission, CCF will play a leading role in developing and utilizing relevant knowledge and drawing upon inter-professional/community partnerships to develop and implement innovative, evidence-informed strategies to address the needs of families.
