Students in our CSWE-accredited BASW program can choose to complete coursework online or in person. Students in this program interact with world-class faculty, staff, and a diverse cohort of students. Students gain practice and research experience in a variety of settings, including:
Graduates from our program are uniquely poised to enter a competitive job market and make the most of forecasted growth within the social work profession. Our recent graduates are working in hospitals, community-based non-profits, K-12 schools, universities, residential treatment programs, the criminal justice system, and more.
Eligible undergraduates may qualify for our 4+1 MSW program, allowing them to complete their MSW in just one year.
Students may declare a Pre-Social Work major at any time, including when they apply to the University. Once prerequisite courses are completed successfully, students apply to the full major through an internal College of Social Work application process.
Students may choose to enroll in all online courses, allowing flexible BASW completion from anywhere. Online students have access to the same support and services as on campus students.
CoSW students have the opportunity to work in a wide range of field placement settings, gaining hands-on practice experience that prepares them for the workforce.
Students can study abroad, engage in service learning, and complete the Diversity Certificate. Each of these will enhance their world view and broaden their appreciation of difference.
All BASW academic advising is overseen by a licensed social worker, which lends a forward-looking career perspective to the educational process.
