Melissa R. Lee, Ph.D, LCSW, is the Army Social Work Internship Program Coordinator and a Clinical Instructor with the Army UKY MSW Program. She is an EMDR-trained Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of clinical experience. Melissa is a military veteran who enjoys working in the military community. She has worked with clients with a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, and various addictions. Also, she helped many people who have experienced sexual, physical trauma, or emotional abuse.
Dr. Lee’s counseling style is warm and interactive. She believes in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion and doesn’t believe in stigmatizing labels. Her approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, couples, LGBTIA+, psychodynamic, and client-centered counseling. She tailors dialog and treatment plans to meet clients’ unique and specific needs. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and take the first steps towards a change. Her educational journey includes studying at Jackson State University, Capella University, and International University for Graduate Studies.
