Get to know

Before working at the University of Kentucky, Tara assisted first-year students with their reading, writing, and college readiness at Eastern Kentucky University. She’s passionate about child welfare and has lived experience with adoption and kinship care, which brought her to the UK College of Social Work. Prior to joining the Kinship Navigator team, Tara facilitated several child welfare advocacy groups for the College’s Department of Strategic Operations, including Kentucky’s Citizen Review Panels and Children’s Justice Act Task Force. In her free time, she enjoys adventures with her son and husband, playing video games and board games, going for frequent walks, and trying to garden.
