Children with Oppositional Defiant Disorder, or ODD, often struggle with defiant behaviors in which they challenge caregivers, break rules, lose their temper, even becoming frequently angry or annoyed. For these children and families, these daily conflicts can be very stressful-especially when it can be difficult to manage. In this webinar, we’ll look at appropriate intervention strategies including how caregivers can respond to help their child while attempting to create a less stressful environment. We’ll also take a look at positive discipline strategies that will can be more effective providing appropriate discipline.
About the Trainer:
Dr. Marlene Huff, LCSW, PhD is an individual counselor with Creative Solutions of the Bluegrass, LLC, in Lexington, KY. Dr. Huff specializes in Mental Health, Addiction (Substance Use Disorder), Relationship issues, and is a Marriage & Family Therapist. Dr. Huff has 16 years experience in the field treating conditions such as stress, depressive disorders, mood disorders, ADHD, anger management, domestic violence, and parenting issues. Dr. Huff is presently writing a book discussing Kinship Care.
Dr. Huff attended the University of Kentucky, studying psychology as an undergraduate, and achieving her Master’s Degree and PhD in Social Work and Medical Sociology from the University of Kentucky in 1999.
