Managing Behaviors in Children That Display Aggression and Other Challenging Behaviors

This virtual 2-part series, offered during Child Abuse and Autism Awareness Month, is designed to give parents the skills needed to manage behaviors in the home environment with children that display aggression and other challenging behaviors to increase resiliency and placement stability.
This event is approved for 2 hours each session for ongoing, elective training credit for Kentucky foster parents. Though these trainings are delivered virtually, these trainings do fulfill the face-to-face, group setting requirement. A reliable internet connection and computer/ smartphone with webcam are required.

Part One
April 18 | 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. EST
Following this training, participants will be able to:
- identify behaviors typically associated with autism and ADHD
- make challenging behaviors irrelevant by identifying 3 strategies to prevent challenging behaviors
- identify how to increase the behaviors they want to see more of in their child and home
Part Two
May 2 | 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. EST
Following this training, participants will be able to:
- make challenging behaviors ineffective by identifying 3 strategies to decrease challenging behaviors
- implement strategies known to be effective in reducing challenging behaviors
- access services relative to addressing mental or behavioral needs
