Reentry Through Their Lens: A Photovoice Experience

The College of Social Work invites you to a powerful and immersive event exploring the lived experiences of individuals navigating reentry after incarceration.
The program will begin with a photo gallery and informal networking space, where attendees can engage with visual stories created by participants. This will be followed by a panel discussion featuring four individuals who will share their personal journeys, insights and reflections on reentry.
Grounded in Photovoice, a participatory research approach, this event highlights photography and guided dialogue as tools for storytelling and reflection. Participants have documented meaningful moments from their reentry experiences, offering a unique and deeply personal perspective.
By centering the voices of those directly impacted, this event creates space for connection, understanding and conversation around the structural and personal factors that shape reentry. Attendees will leave with greater insight and a deeper appreciation for the complexities of the reentry process.
