Event Overview
Clinical supervision is a crucial aspect of social work practice that ensures ethical and competent service delivery. The goals of clinical supervision are to improve the quality of services provided to clients, enhance the skills and knowledge of social workers, promote self-awareness and self-reflection, and provide emotional support. This live interactive training (via Zoom video conferencing) meets the 6 hour requirement of the Kentucky Board of Social Work for licensed clinical social workers (KRS 210.266(2)) seeking to provide supervision for CSWs in Kentucky.

2:45 p.m. – 3:45 p.m. — Module 3 (Part 2) and Module 4
3:45 p.m. – 4 p.m. –Complete online training evaluation
Learning Outcomes
After completing this course, you will be able to:
- Determine the legal and ethical requirements as specified inKRS.335
- Identify the supervisor/supervised relationship and be able to appropriately complete a supervision contract.
- Identify the principles of ethical decision making.
- Identify the Code of Ethical Conduct as specified in 201 KAR 23:080.
- Evaluate the ethical dilemmas that may arise in the supervision of social work practice.

Accreditation
University of Kentucky College of Social Work, Provider # 1377, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 9/29/25-9/29/28. Social workers completing this course receive 6 continuing education credits.
This course meets Kentucky requirements for six hours in clinical supervision and is approved by the Kentucky Board of Social Work for 7.2 credit hours. Approval No.: KBSW 2025042: LCSW Supervision

Instructor
Shericka Smith, DSW, MSSW, LCSW was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky and is a mental health coordinator for Fayette County Public Schools. Shericka obtained an undergraduate degree from Transylvania University where she studied Spanish and Psychology. She then went on to the University of Louisville, earning her Masters in School Social Work. She recently obtained her Doctorate in Social Work and is teaching classes at the University of Kentucky. She also provides mental health counseling at a private practice she co-owns, Wellness Within, working with people of all ages.
How to Claim Credit
You must attend the training in its entirety and complete an evaluation form. Attendance will be verified using Zoom attendance reports.
