Podcast Explores Music and Life of Folk Legend Jean Ritchie

Legendary folk singer and songwriter Jean Ritchie graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Social Work in 1946 and was employed as a social worker in New York before gaining international fame with her music.

A special double episode of the “Social Work Conversations” podcast released today, explores the life and music of the Viper, Ky. native including interviews with musician Carla Gover and Kay Hoffman, former dean of the College of Social Work who was a close friend of Ritchie’s.

Podcast producer Jason Johnston and host Blake Jones, who are big fans of Ritchie’s music, also play and sing a selection of her songs.
