Bio

Mohammad Sajjad Hossain is a Ph.D. candidate in the College of Social Work at the University of Kentucky, where his research focuses on family and informal caregiving, with a particular emphasis on transnational caregiving. He holds an MA in Human Rights, Gender, and Conflict Studies from the International Institute of Social Studies at Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands, as well as both an MSW and a BSW from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Before beginning his doctoral studies, Hossain spent more than 15 years as a social work educator in Bangladesh, where he advocated for social justice and championed the rights of marginalized groups, including Dalits and women. His scholarship includes multiple peer-reviewed publications and presentations at international conferences, where he has highlighted the challenges facing vulnerable populations and contributed to global dialogues on human rights and social inclusion. Guided by a strong commitment to equity and dignity, Hossain continues to advance knowledge and practice aimed at building a more inclusive and just world.
