Event Overview

This is the College of Social Work’s inaugural event dedicated to supporting first-generation college students (those whose parents and grandparents did not earn a bachelor’s degree) as they pursue their MSW degree. Led by MSW Program Director Dr. Amanda Brown, this session will create space for connection, encouragement, and shared strategies for navigating graduate school successfully. Together, we’ll explore ways to support one another, build community, and thrive in academia as first-generation graduate students.
