In honor of National Social Work Month, the University of Kentucky College of Social Work (CoSW) will host an appreciation event for any UK employee who has graduated from a social work program or currently serves the campus in a social work capacity.

The event will take place on Friday, March 31, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the 2nd floor balcony of the Gatton Student Center. Attendees will receive CoSW swag as a small token of acknowledgment and appreciation.

Often unheralded and sometimes misunderstood, social work is a distinct and noble profession. As codified by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics, “The primary mission of the social work profession is to enhance human well-being and help meet the basic human needs of all people.”

For over 85 years, the College of Social Work (CoSW) at the University of Kentucky has been a leader in education. Our mission is clear: Through rigorous research, excellence in instruction, and steadfast service, the CoSW works to improve the human condition. Always, in all ways.

As the state’s flagship university, our mission is actualized through our deeds. Our faculty are renowned academicians dedicated to fostering the development of high-quality practitioners and researchers. As a college, we promote community and individual well-being through translational research and scholarship, exemplary teaching, and vital community engagement. We are committed to the people and social institutions throughout Kentucky, the nation, and the world.
