KY-KINS Peer Support

You don’t have to do this alone. We can help.
Connect with a peer supporter who understands the challenges of kinship caregiving—someone who is on their own kinship journey and can guide the way.

KY-KINS connects kinship caregivers with trained peer supporters who truly understand the journey. Each caregiver is paired with an experienced kinship provider who has completed specialized training and can offer guidance, encouragement, and practical support.

Through weekly virtual meetings, caregivers can:

  • Receive emotional support from someone who has been in your shoes
  • Talk through concerns in a safe, private, and supportive space
  • Get practical help with things like insurance enrollment, financial assistance, or connecting to local resources

Peer Supporters aren’t counselors or therapists, but their lived experience provides a unique source of understanding, guidance, and hope. Support is flexible, free, and designed to fit busy schedules. Call today to sign up and get the help you need for your kinship family!

Earn an Incentive While Getting Support

Caregivers participating in the KY-KINS one-on-one peer support program can receive an incentive for sharing their feedback of their experience.

After completing three surveys over the initial 12 weeks of program involvement, caregivers become eligible for a $75 incentive—a small thank-you for taking the time to share how the program is helping.

Support your family, connect with a trained peer supporter, and gain some valuable help along the way!
