Project School Readiness! KIN VIP Support Group
Event Overview
Project School Readiness! is a new, educational group opportunity for kinship caregivers who have questions about navigating school for the upcoming school year!
This group is only scheduled to meet TWICE–July 22 at 11 am EST and August 12 at 7 pm EST and will provide a space where kinship caregivers can ask questions and gain helpful information for getting your kinship child ready for the upcoming school year!
Facilitated by Merlin Jones Smalley, a retired FRYSC worker, caregivers can find resources and support for preparing their children for the upcoming school year!
Do you think your child might need an IEP? Did your child struggle in school last year? Where can you get help with school supplies or school clothes?
Come and join on us on July 22 and August 12!
About the Facilitator:
Merlin Jones Smalley is a recently retired FRYSC agent with Jefferson County Public Schools. Merlin is a kinship caregiver and is knowledgeable in resources available to support kinship families in Jefferson County and through JCPC, and currently facilitates an long-running, virtual, kinship support group.
