Benefits of Peer-led Support Groups

ASK support groups can help you navigate legal processes and systems, complicated youth histories, feelings of isolation, and more. By bringing people together who share the unique experience of adoption, our support groups serve to validate your experiences and frustrations, as well as celebrate the triumphs exclusive to foster and adoptive parenting. They also enable members to share resources, suggestions, and identify and solve problems. Perhaps most importantly, they offer encouragement, affirmation, and hope. ASK support groups include a training component to equip you with knowledge and skills to enhance your foster/adoptive journey. Two hours of ongoing, elective foster parent training credit is available at each support group meeting.
